Back in the Saddle

Talk about me you better #bargain.

The new / old steed….complete with mud.

Being from the north I’m always looking for a bargain and that’s exactly what my Dad has sorted me out with here….A 2013 Specialized Stumpjumper Evo Comp (Find the spec list at the bottom).

A few bumps and scrapes

The bike will make a plush change from my previous 2012 Specialized Rockhopper which did have some upgrades but to be honest was still a bone shaking ride when putting it through a rock garden at Gisburn Forest.

The first outing  was to Coed Llandegla Forest in North Wales. The trail centre, run by Oneplanet adventure has blue, red, black and specialist runs . The red route is around 18 km long / 2-4 hours depending on ability.

P.S. I’m no expert rider!

Novice at work!

Llandegla is becoming busier and busier so be prepared to see some gatherings at the top of trails complete with words of ‘encouragement’ before you head down.  I feel mountain biking can be an intimidating sport at times but don’t let the ‘all the gear’ crowd put you off. Enjoy the trails!

A grand day out

It’s been more than a year since I was regularly on the bike and it felt great to be back riding.  I think a few tweaks and upgrades will be coming for the bike so look out for future posts on this.

A definite upgrade needed here.
